hexAglow

2015 || polypropylene, neodymium magnets, white LED

HEXAGlow is a small, plastic toy light that provides a soft glow in dark settings from a single white LED. Due to the HEXAGlow's embedded magnets and geometric form, It connects easily to metallic surfaces and invites interaction with multiples of itself to create fun and unique patterns. Each light comprises of two polypropylene injected molded parts that were made using a self-made aluminum mold and the Stanford Product Realization Lab's vertical Argburg machine. The aluminum mold was modeled in SolidWorks and machined through HSM Works on a Haas CNC mill.
